To be clear, this isn't good for much more than parts. And it MUST go this weekend. I'd rather the Neon community get it for parts than donate it. Either way, the car absolutely has to go under threat of fine because our area is sending an ordinance officer around to issue warnings, then tickets on unregistered vehicles. Why not insure and re-register? It cannot be driven, at all.

I will NOT part this out. All or nothing, must tow.

Price: $200 OBO
Year: 1997
Engine: SOHC
Transmission: Auto. Rebuilt a decade ago, don't know the details.
Model: 4 door baseline
Color: Red, rear bumper replaced with unpainted new bumper
Problems:
Rear driver's quarter rusted to the point of the bumper not attaching at that corner anymore.
    Hood has serious rust.
Front bumper is not attached, but could be.
PDC is pulled out, can be rebuilt with a blank PDC as no wires were cut/
Last time the car ran, it would surge and hesitate over 20-25mph, was traced to a bad crank sensor, but the problem stems from something else because it persisted after replacing the sensor.
There are two bellhousing bolts removed.
There is no fuel filler neck, tank was capped to keep things out.
Been sitting long enough the brakes would need attention if this were to be rebuilt.

Recommended only for the base for a project. You'd basically be buying a shell. I can try to get some pics up tomorrow.

Might be interested in picking up this car on Monday evening 4/6 if it is still around. Let me know. Sorry, couldn't do anything over this weekend.

Does it roll and have 4 tires that hold air such that it can be pushed onto a tow dolly??

PM or e-mail is fine.

Thanks,

Kevin S.

A pic or two would be nice also if you still have the car.

Thanks,

Car is still here. I will be jacking it up and taking wheels off to knock the brakes loose so it'll roll, but otherwise yes it has 4 wheels and will roll once the brakes let go. Wife took pictures yesterday, she's looking for the camera so we can post them.

Replacement rear bumper cover, paint peeling on the trunk. No known rust in this area except on the quarter pictured next
Image

This is where the rear bumper cover cannot be attached anymore. That rust is ready to pull right apart.
Image

One wiper arm missing, other without a wiper blade. Peeling paint shown again. Front fenders both look great for use as a repaint and replace part. Was tempted to take them myself, but not if someone wants the car.
Image

Straight on at the front. You can see a hint of the rust that is in the hood. That front edge is all rusted when you lift it. *Bumper is not actually attached. MIssing the side plastic brackets that attach to the tabs on the fenders.* Will need to throw the bumper in the car or the tow vehicle unless you have the parts to attach it on hand.
Image

See some of the typical Neon sun balding here. The doors appear to be good and the rockers on both sides look good at a glance. May have some rust starting, not sure.
Image

Paint scraped up here. Rust on the quarter behind the door. Can't tell how deep that rust is, didn't dig into it.
