Re: Tires

About a month ago I got 2 BFG Sport Comp 2's for the front on my SRT. I am very impressed for being a cheaper tire. Awesome wet or dry, the sidewalls say all season but they are defiantly ultra high performance summer . They were $119 + $24 shipping and $15 a piece to install and balance off TireRac...

Re: '98 Neon Coupe Winter Car (lots of pics)

Well the 2.4 swap has not been running right. It has been throwing a lean code right after it warms up, and it has been warming up really fast so I know it was really running lean. I have been messing with it here and there in the last month or so, never drove it. I tried a few TPS's, a different ma...

Re: WTB Rack and pinnon and battery tray

I tripped over a rack and pinion at 8mile PG yesterday, not sure if there was any manual racks. They had over 10 1st gens, and 5 2nd gens.

It did not fit very well, I had to put about 1/2" stack of washers on the top 2 bolts t...

Re: '98 Neon Coupe Winter Car (lots of pics)

Did a little more today. Got all the mounts bolted up and alum oil pan installed. Had lop a little unused tab on the oil pan down a little to get the front mount to fit. I also trimmed the front mount to fit around the oil pan. http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h263/zitts/98Neon/2013-01-01_21-13-10_...

Re: '98 Neon Coupe Winter Car (lots of pics)

Yeah, need to get it running asap. My truck is in need of a lot of work and the SRT should never be driven in the snow plus on the SRT 2 tires have cracks in the sidewalls. Here is what I did last night: I had to pull the alternator and UDP off to shoe horn it in there. The orange tie down straps we...

Re: '98 Neon Coupe Winter Car

I have been so busy with work and working on days I thought I had off. This 2 week project is turning into a 3 or 4 week project. But ended up putting the 2.0 cams in. I thought I had my 16's still, oh well. Cleaned up the head and assembled the engine. http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h263/zitts/9...

Re: '98 Neon Coupe Winter Car

Nah, no money for high compression pistons or a turbo. Just a little funner than the 2.0 for winter. Maybe another DNO'er can buy it next year when I sell it. I plan on doing gasket matching and some light porting. This project has been a little of a slow go, I am beat after working 12 hrs when I ge...

Got all my parts in this last week. Re: '98 Neon Coupe Winter Car

I have read on the org that the 2.4 torque curve matches the gearing for the ATX. Which I would agree, according to the factory published numbers the 2.4 has about 30 more ft/lbs of torque than the 2.0 and the peak HP at a lower RPM with the 2.4. But it also looks like it the 2.4 is a better bet bec...

Re: '98 Neon Coupe Winter Car

Got the head off. No noticeable damage, one of the valves may be chipped on the edge but cannot tell for sure until I get it cleaned up. http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h263/zitts/98Neon/2012-12-12_15-45-40_312-1.jpg It looks like it needed a head gasket anyway due to the white residue on the exha...

'98 Neon Coupe Winter Car (lots of pics)

Just picked up a Platinum '98 Sport DOHC coupe auto with a broke timing belt. The body is in good shape. Some shopping cart dings, 2 areas of rust on the passenger fender and a spot on the trunk. Rockers, doors, hood and shell are rust free. It has brand new tires, new brakes and exhaust. http://i66...

Anyone want to make some quick cash? Tow a Neon for me

Would anyone mind helping me move a Neon from Rosevile to Clarkston? It is about 40 miles. I would like it done this weekend or Monday at the latest. PM me, I would compensate your time and gas, thanks
